Oak exterior updated with modern anthracite grey windows

Aberdeenshire

The owners of this beautiful home in Buckie, Aberdeenshire, wanted to update the look of their house by upgrading their existing double glazed windows.

The house was built in 1905 and some of the windows had been replaced in 2004 but the majority were much older and no longer energy efficient and draughty.

Having received a couple of quotations from other glaziers, Mr and Mrs Butcher knew CR Smith was well known within the surrounding areas and wanted to take advantage of the excellent finance options available to them.

The new uPVC windows and doors have made a noticeable difference to the heat retention in the family’s home with the added benefit of a reduction in their heating bills. Due to the upgrade, the couple were also pleasantly surprised to have noticed an improvement in noise pollution coming from the busy road at the rear of the property.

Mr and Mrs Butcher opted for their new windows and doors in a modern anthracite grey colour – the previous oak colour had not been to their liking – which has drawn lots of lovely comments from their friends and family.

The interior of the uPVC windows and doors has been finished with white engineered timber sills and surrounds. This selection has kept the room interiors bright and complements the couple’s modern décor perfectly.

Mr and Mrs Butcher commented “The surveyors and joiners were amazing. The children actually cried when they left as they enjoyed them being around the house!”

The home features a mixture of window styles, ensuring that each complies with Scottish Building regulations. Casement windows and a large sliding patio door have been installed on the ground level, with reversible windows featured on the top floor.
