A Fort William installation: Why an Everest guide picked CR Smith

Highlands

With CR Smith spanning the length of Scotland, one of our latest installations was for a unique individual based in Fort William, the gateway to Ben Nevis. Mr Smith is a mountain guide for Everest and has climbed the highest points on all continents, summiting Everest seven time and K2 twice. We were thrilled when we got the call to fit his new home improvements.

uPVC windows in Inverness-shire

Nestled in the quaint town of Fort William, Mr and Mrs Smith were looking to modernise their windows and doors to maximise their view outward and increase the natural light inside. Their original windows had led finishings, mahognay frames and poor energy efficiency, which no longer satisfied the couple.

They decided it was time to upgrade their windows and opt for something more modern, thermal efficient and stylish. This is where we came in, with our slimline frames and ‘A’ rated energy efficiency, our uPVC windows were exactly what the Smiths were looking for. The additional features of timber sills and surrounds and a range of internal and external colours to choose from allowed the Smiths’ to make their new windows unique to their individual tatse.

The decision process

Deciding on the right window style for your home can be daunting. With different designs to choose from and the optional decortive features, the Smiths went through all our product information on casement windows, sliding sash, tilt and turn and reversible windows, to find the perfect look for their home.

Settling on a combination of casement and tilt-and-turn windows, complete with natural ash sills and surrounds and an anthracite grey exterior, we got to work manufacturing these products at our Fife-based factory.

Along with replacing all their windows, Mr and Mrs Smith decided to change their patio door with a new uPVC patio door in an anthracite grey finish. Complete internally with the natural ash surrounds, this worked at keeping a level of cohesion throughout the home, adding a sleek finish to their interiors.

The installation

When it came to the installation, one of the main concerns Mrs Smith had was the potential ‘mess’ that was going to occur. However, as all of our joiners are trined in-house, and ensure customer care is prominent throughout the process, the job was done smoothly and effectively, and to Mrs Smiths’ surpirse, there was little to no debris remaining to clean up after.

Customer feedback

Upon completiton of the installation, Mr and Mrs Smith reported back on how satifsfied they were with the whole process, emphasising the smoothness and cleanliness of the installation. Mr Smith also commented on how difficult it is to get good tradesmen in the highlands and was incredibly impressed by the products, teams and services at CR Smith.
