Product & installation guarantee
The Lorimer guarantee covers parts, products and workmanship for a full ten years. All electrical items and flooring are covered by the manufacturer’s guarantee. We will never hesitate to honour our obligations under its terms and our dedicated customer service team will handle your queries quickly and efficiently.
Building regulations certificate
CR Smith is proud to guarantee that all installations of Lorimer windows and doors meet, as a minimum, the exacting standards of Building Regulations (Scotland) at the time of your installation. This includes:

- Fire escape
- Handle heights
- Safe cleaning
- Ventilation
- Permissions and warrants
Emergency call out service
CR Smith offers an emergency call out service available 24-hours, 365 days per year so we are available when you need us most. This service covers both problems of a serious nature such as fire hazards, flooding, security risks and the like, as well as more minor (but inconvenient) problems such as customers who have been locked out.
Security guarantee for windows and doors.
Lorimer windows and doors carry the extra protection of our unique security guarantee. We are so confident in the security they provide that for ten years we will replace any door or window fitted to a brickwork aperture, completely free of charge, should it fail and an unwanted intruder gains entry to your home through the Lorimer frame (excluding glass breakage).
Independent accreditation.
All Lorimer products are manufactured to the highest standards and exceed the requirements of both Scottish building regulations. But you don’t need to take our word for it because our full product range is independently tested and achieve the following British Standards Kitemarks and further accreditation:
BS EN 1279 – 2 & 3 Insulating glass units
Our double-glazed sealed units have been successfully manufactured and tested for moisture penetration and gas retention.
BS 7412 Windows & door sets made from PVC-U extruded profiles
Specifies the requirements for the design, fabrication and performance of windows and doors.
BS 6375 – 1 Performance of windows and doors
Weather tightness and guidance on selection and specification (Part of BS 7412). It specifies the exposure categories related to test pressure levels for air permeability, water tightness and wind resistance for external windows and door sets.
PAS 24 Enhanced security performance of windows for domestic applications
Specification for windows and doors manufactured to provide enhanced security against unauthorised forced entry.

BFRC energy rating – ‘A’
All Lorimer windows are manufactured to achieve a U-Value of 1.4W/m2K, which is an ‘A’ energy rating. Although doors do not have a comparable rating scale, Lorimer doors are manufactured to the same high glazing specification as Lorimer windows.
